Call for papers – Acta Philologica vol. 58
(to be published in July 2022)
Acta Philologica is an open access peer-reviewed interdisciplinary and multicultural academic journal of the University of Warsaw (Faculty of Modern Languages). We invite researchers to submit their original and unpublished research papers and book reviews from disciplines including literary and cultural studies. The journal focuses on theoretical and empirical studies, research results, as well as papers related to new trends and practices in literary and cultural studies within the field of English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish Studies.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Comparative literature
- Contemporary literature
- Literary theory
- Cross-cultural studies
- Transcultural and transnational studies
- Social-exclusion-related themes in literature and culture (ableism, ageism, sexism, racism, classism, homophobia, lookism)
- Methodologies applied in literary and cultural studies
- Postcolonial studies
- Ecocriticism
- Visual and audiovisual arts
- Cultural studies theory
- Border studies (limits, figurative borders, transgressions)
- Environmental Studies
The objective of the journal is to publish disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary, theoretical and/or applied research articles that focus on literatures and cultures and thus Acta Philologica accepts original and unpublished manuscripts in English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish. The multicultural perspective aimed to bring together researchers who focus on areas of literary and cultural studies and provide a broad cross cultural exploration and subsequent innovation in these areas. The journal welcomes the submission of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of significance and scientific excellence. Accepted manuscripts will be a double-blind peer-reviewed.
Proposals for scientific book reviews in the fields of literary and cultural studies need to be submitted for acceptance by the Editorial Board before final submission.
The journal is now indexed in these databases:
CEJSH (Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities), Academica, CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library), BazHum and ICI Journals Master List – Index Copernicus.
The journal does not have article processing charges (APCs) and article submission charges. Acta Philologica welcomes article submissions and does not charge a publication fee.
Publication Timeline:
- January 15, 2022: submission deadline for manuscripts (submit to acta.litcult@uw.edu.pl)
- April 2022: Double-blind peer-reviews of the submitted manuscripts distributed to the Authors
- June 2022: Authors’ revision of the accepted manuscripts
- July – August 2022: Articles published as completed
